‘Loneliness’ Poem

Loneliness
Azmaria Dei Post
Circa 2005-2006

Laughter, joyful laughter.
Voices so friendly.
Mocking birds sing,
Of togetherness.

Laughter, mocking laughter.
Voices so distant.
The canary is silent,
In the wilderness.

Laughter, quiet laughter.
Voices so silent.
The hawks wait,
For a weakness.

The silence deafens.
Crushing the voices.
Too loud to yell,
With no one to listen.

The silence crushes.
Stopping the heart.
Stealing the breath,
So none can hear.

The silence bleeds.
Pulling my strength.
Stealing my soul.
Going down deep.
